Sanae tried to help strengthen the barrier to prevent Puppets from reaching the Outside World, but states that since I got dragged here, that wasn't perfect. They also grew in population so quickly that even the resident incident resolvers like herself could not suppress them.
The cause has not yet been figured out, but Sanae remembers that it started around spring-time, where they appeared without warning or reason. She explains the basics: How Gensokyo is separated from the Outside World via the Great Hakurei Barrier, and then how Gensokyo is being flooded by Puppets. Sanae opts to explain the situation instead of Marisa.
Unfortunately, Reimu's out at that point so Sanae's there instead. She can't figure out what to make of it, so she takes me to the Hakurei Shrine. The Sakuya just joins me! Marisa exclaims shock at this, given how you normally need Seal Threads to do that. Ties are also broken via personal preference. If I get no votes, I'll just choose my personal preference. So, who do I start with: Reimu, Marisa, Yuuka, Sakuya, Remilia or Sanae? Poll ends in two days. The ones available before the SDM are Mima, Alice, Cirno, Youmu, Yuyuko and Reisen, so they're out too. And I'm not allowing Yukari either as I've already used her as a starter once before. I'm also not including Aya as a vote because she trivialises the game hard as a starter. But I don't know who to pick.Wait a minute, I know how to decide!So before I begin the game for real, I'm going to make a poll to decide the question: Which character am I going to start with? Eligible characters who are available for capture in the wild before the Scarlet Devil Mansion are not available as votes.
I don't want to pick something that is obtainable before the Scarlet Devil Mansion as my starter choice, though. Try ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY SIX different starter options: You can literally pick any character in the game to be your starter.
